White Linen is in a prime location and within a few minutes walk to the harbour. The “Endeavour” room is stunning as is the whole building. It’s a real credit to the owners, Bernie & Malcom who are amazing hosts. They made our visit a very special one. There was nothing that we could have wished for more although had we wanted anything extra, I know that it would not have been any trouble for Bernie & Malcolm. I would thoroughly recommend staying here & I should I return there is no doubt what so ever, this is where I shall book.

Fabulous stay at White Linen. White Linen is located a convenient 5 minute walk from the harbour side pubs and restaurants. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our hosts, Malcolm and Bernie, couldn’t have been more helpful. Will definitely stay here again next time we’re in Whitby.

Fantastic hotel, warm welcome, great location. Amazing.. loved every minute of it This hotel is perfect … would definitely recommend it…. Amazing location..central beyond belief…. parking a bit of a nightmare… but we got lucky to park near the hotel. The little touches…which were plenty… went along way throughout our short stay ….no room service….. AMAZING… Thank you so much for making our short getaway…extra special Would go again tomorrow!

Relaxing Two Night Break. A very warm welcome received from Bernie and Malcolm, beautiful accommodation in a perfect location for exploring in and around Whitby. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend White Linen. Many thanks for an enjoyable stay.

Malcolm and Bernie were so friendly and accommodating. They even helped lug our many suitcases with us (we are on a long trip). The accommodation is beautiful, very well maintained and is so central to Whitby. Thanks again, Malcolm and Bernie, for a wonderful stay!

Amazing guest house. Gorgeous guest house, the whole place was recently refurbished and to a very high standard. They don’t offer breakfast however coffee’s etc are in the room including milk in a mini fridge and on the help book in the room they recommended the best places to eat and what’s local, very informative. Malcolm & Bernie are the most attentive, thoughtful and nice people you could ever meet. They were very warm in welcoming us, I felt like I was in a 5* hotel

House was beautiful, room was beautiful and fully equipped. Malcolm and Bernie were perfect hosts. Didn’t want to go out as I was very at home in the room. Loved it. Thank you.

A lovely place for a weekend escape. The property is beautiful and spotlessly clean and Malcolm and Bernie were wonderful hosts. Lots of nice touches, such as coffee, milk, water and delicious chocolates/biscuits and a really easy walk to the bars and restaurants of Whitby.
The only negatives would be the parking (a feature of Whitby) and the water pressure/hot water which you would expect of a listed building. We had a great stay and would highly recommend!
Tips for other travellers: The nearby Robin Hood Bay and Boggle Hole is definitely worth the hike. Great coffee and cake at the YHA! Mademoiselles has a great gin selection and loved the great social atmosphere in the Moon and Sixpence!
(Owner’s note: Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about the shortage of parking in Whitby, but we have now improved our hot water pressure to all rooms by installing a booster pump. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.)

Absolutely amazing.. love this little gem..close to the town centre No room service… which was great..our room was ours.. no interruptions whatsoever we could come and go as we liked. Check in was great. Would definatly go back again.
Tips for other travellers. The Abbey and micro bar was great. Harry’s bar, Mr chips and the local curry house were all great. The many pubs are wonderful. Go on board the ship for a drink. The Whitby bay bar was very accommodating and pleasant.

A brilliant guest house, with a nice touch of luxury about it, ran by a lovely couple who made us feel extremely welcome. We very highly recommend a stay at The White Linen.
Tips for other travellers: An excellent variety of very good breakfast dishes available at Botham Tea rooms and their chips are excellent; far better than the famous Trenchers chip shop which we found rather underwhelming and overhyped. If Indian food is what you fancy, The Passage to India is well worth a visit.

Tips for other travellers: Whitby Deli for breakfast, Trenchers for lunch and French restaurant (can’t remember the name) for dinner. They all had exceptionally good food.

Fantastic accommodation, really pleasant greeting and perfectly managed our two days. If you are looking for a great break on Whitby then cannot recommend highly enough.
Tips for other travellers: The Star Inn the Harbour. Moon and Sixpence. Railway walk from Marina Car Park to Ruswarp and back. Ravenscar for seal watching. The Abbey is a great visit too .

Room was fantastic. Lovely sitting area. Fresh milk in fridge for brew. Plenty tea and coffee. Chocolates, bath robes and slippers, lush carpet. Better than many 4 star hotels I’ve stayed in. Well worth it. Two minute walk from facilities.

This was our second visit to White Linen and this time under new ownership. The new owners Malcolm and Bernie have made a wonderful job of redecorating this beautiful Georgian house, which is perfectly located. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. White Linen is immaculate and clean throughout and we would thoroughly recommend to others.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in the Resolution Room. The room was lovely. Malcolm and Bernie checked us in and explained everything very well and were most welcoming. We actually prefer this room only model and enjoyed finding our own places to eat. We got a nice text to ask if we needed anything (we didn’t) and were otherwise left to our own devices. Next time we go to Whitby we know where we will be staying.

Wow, what can I say. Malcolm and Bernie are such wonderful hosts. They advised us where we could park and issued us with a road permit. They let us leave our luggage at lunchtime whilst we went for a wander and when we returned at 3 and went in our room our jaws dropped. What a stunning, spacious and spectacular room. We were in the Endeavour and its is huge and like a home from home. Beautifully decorated and felt so relaxed and lovely. A lot of care and attention to detail has gone into this guesthouse. We got a couple of friendly texts over the weekend asking if we needed supplies topping up and if there was anything we could do, and they also gave us hints on where to go to eat and sight see. Such pleasant and accommodating people and the nicest place I have ever stayed in in my life. We are planning our next relaxing weekend here in April 2020 and can’t wait to stay over again. Thank you so much for everything.

We stayed for the weekend, we were met by the owners on arrival, and provided with permits to park our car just behind the hotel. The room was beautiful, had everything we could possibly need. The owners provide a discrete service, so don’t bother you in person but sent a quick text asking if we needed anything, and dropped off an iron straight way. Location is very central and a couple of minutes away from the centre.

Beautifully restored building. Rooms are excellent quality with all the facilities you need and more. Spotlessly clean with complimentary Duck Island toiletries, Harrogate Spa water, Tassimo coffee machine, little fridge, chocolates and biscuits, bath robes and Slippers also provided. Very comfy bed, original sash and shutters on the windows. Owners are very friendly and provide lots of info on the area in the welcome folder. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend this is just the place.

We stayed here for a weekend break and were not disappointed. The room we stayed in (“Adventure”) was spacious and very tastefully decorated with plenty of space. The facilities were very good with plenty of consumables and more available any time. The best example of the thought that has gone into the place is perhaps the size of the mugs – proper chunky things you can make a real drink in. So easy to provide, but rare to find! The hands-off approach suited us; very friendly hosts who were there if needed but never if the way. We will be back!

Beautiful guest house, in a perfect location. Lovely room, very clean and fabulous friendly hosts. Short stroll to the town, with everything you need right on your doorstep. Would happily stay here again, without hesitation. 10 out of 10!!

Recently had the pleasure of staying for two nights which was a lovely gift from our daughter. The accommodation is ideally situated very close to the harbour. We were greeted by the very pleasent owners Malcolm and Bernie. Our room was absolutely gorgeous with lots of lovely touches. There were an ample supply of refreshments including a table top fridge for milk. Beautifully refurbished an absolute credit to the owners. We have stayed in Whitby many many times but The White Linen certainly outshines the others. We will certainly be returning in 2019.

I recently stayed at the White Linen Hotel with my dearly beloved and we had a wonderful time. We were greeted on Friday night by the lovely Malcom and Bernie, it was such a lovely welcome and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The room was immaculate and we loved all the extra touches! We will definitely be staying again and would highly recommend.
